ARE THERE LIVE ITEMS TO BID ON IN PERSON?
All our items are online-only. You can bid via your mobile device while you’re at the Celebration of Hope. We’ll have a display of all our amazing packages to preview and bid on while at the event. We encourage it! Visit tacomayfc.afrogs.org to register to bid and preview items. Bidding is open October 18th-21st.
CAN I SPONSOR A TABLE?
We are not doing a table sponsor program at this year’s event.
Please invite your friends and family, though! If you’re interested in supporting in a way similar to sponsoring a table, you can buy the equivalent to a full table (8 people) of guests for just $55 a ticket at the early bird price! Tickets go up to $65 on September 9th. Grab your tickets HERE.

CAN I BUY MULTIPLE TICKETS?
Absolutely! Buying a ticket for a friend is a great way to introduce them to an organization you love. Let anyone you invite know that they’ll need to register to bid on our online auction platform to participate in the auction or to donate to GIVE LIFE online.
You can donate to GIVE LIFE at the event either through raising a paddle, online contributions, check, card, etc.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO “REGISTER”?
How do I register? Who needs to register? When can I register?
To “register” simply means you are signed up to bid via our online bidding platform, AuctionFrogs. If you’ve purchased a ticket to the Celebration of Hope, you are registered! If you purchased multiple tickets (Yay! Thank you!), your guests are not registered to bid. Even if you entered the names of your guests, they will not be able to bid until they register themselves. You can copy and paste this link: tacomayfc.afrogs.org into an email, text message, etc., and let them know they’ll need to register to bid on all the amazing items up for auction.
Or direct them to tacomayfc.org/celebrationofhope for all the information they may need about the Celebration of Hope or online auction.
HOW DO I DRESS FOR THIS?
This is a semi-formal event. Think slacks, a jacket, a nice dress, etc. You can leave the ball gown and tuxedos at home. 
IF I CAN’T COME TO THE CELEBRATION OF HOPE IN PERSON, HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
First, thank you so much for your support! A few ways to participate could include bidding in the online auction or donating to GIVE LIFE. Sharing the event with your friends and family is also greatly appreciated.
SO WHAT’S FOR DINNER?
We are working with a wonderful caterer to put together a delicious buffet-style meal. Dessert is included! A no-host bar is also available to purchase beer and wine.
WHAT IS AN ONLINE AUCTION?
An online auction allows bidders to participate from their home computers or out and about on their mobile devices. If you have placed bids on eBay, then you have participated in an online auction!
Our site is mobile-friendly, so you can even bid from your smartphone!
HOW DO I BID ON AUCTION ITEMS?
First, you must register and create an account under the “Register” tab on our online auction site. Bidding opens October 18th. Each auction item will have a minimum bid (the lowest dollar amount the item will go for) and a minimum raise amount (the smallest increment you can increase the current bid by). Of course, you are encouraged to bid in higher increments than minimally required! You may bid on an item as often as you wish and even raise your own bid amount. If your bid is the highest bid when the auction closes (Saturday, October 21st at 9 pm) you are the winner!!
CAN I VIEW ITEMS WITHOUT HAVING AN ACCOUNT?
Yep, looking is allowed! However, you can’t bid without registering and entering a credit card number (YUP this will be required, BUT no worries, AuctionFrogs is completely secure and your card will only be charged if you win an item).
WILL I BE NOTIFIED IF I’M OUTBID?
We won’t let you down – you’ll get an email letting you know when you’ve been outbid! Make sure to check your email (and junk mail) so somebody doesn’t steal the item out from under you!
BID WARS?! HOW DOES THAT WORK?
If an item receives a bid in the final ten minutes of the auction, it will enter into a Bid War and the end time of that particular item will be extended, in ten minute increments, until no bids are received. All other items will end at the appointed time.
HOW WILL I KNOW IF I WON AN ITEM?
Winning bidders will receive an automated message once the auction closes, prompting them to log in and check to see what items they have won.
WHEN DOES THE AUCTION END?
The online auction ends at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct 21st after the Celebration of Hope Event has ended.
Unless, of course, there are bid wars…
IF I WIN AN ITEM, HOW DO I GET IT?
You don’t need to worry about finding the time to pick up your winnings. All items and packages are certificates or experiences and information will be sent to you via the address and or email you provided when you registered.
