INTRODUCING…..Bebhinn Horrigan! We are welcoming our newest staff member to her role as Tacoma Parent Life Coordinator. You’ll find her in neighborhoods, on campuses, and in the community building relationships and empowering volunteer leaders to come alongside parenting teen moms and dads.
See for yourself why we’re so excited to have her on the team by reading her answers below.
What are you excited about in your new role?
I am excited to be the person that I needed growing up, a positive adult who cares and takes the time to show up. Parent Life is a unique ministry where young people carry huge responsibilities as young parents, and I am excited to walk alongside them through that process. And bonus, I happen to love babies and kids.
Why YFC?
I am fortunate to have great friends who have worked for YFC over the years, so I have seen the great work YFC does in Tacoma. I’ve been a volunteer for City Life events, JJM and camp, and still keep in contact with kids from those ministries 15 years ago. I always felt YFC would be an amazing place to work if the opportunity came up, and here I am!
What’s the best book you’ve read lately?
Living in light of Eternity by John Bevere.
What’s the best prank you’ve ever pulled?
Oh gosh… I’m not a big prank person. I did once surprise a friend and show up at her church in Utah when she had no idea I was coming.
Besides Jesus, your family, etc., what’s something you love/are passionate about? Or a hobby you have?
I am passionate about coffee and sunshine. My answer for coffee is always yes, any time of day. And though I’ve lived in Tacoma my whole life I cannot stand the rain. I would be happy with sun 365 days a year.
What song do you know all the lyrics to?
I’m going to go with the first song that popped into my head, even though there are a ton of others. “Thunder Rolls” by Garth Brooks. My best friend and I used to sing that in middle school a lot.
Is a hot dog a sandwich?
No. That’s awkward.
