Passionate about a specific community in Pierce County? Let us know and we’ll find a way to partner with you.

Who We Serve

Tacoma YFC works with young people in juvenile detention, on school campuses, in the community, and teen parents navigating young adulthood. We serve all youth without discrimination. Every young person, regardless of circumstance or lifestyle, is welcome, valued, and seen here.

We believe every youth has inherent worth. Full stop.

What Volunteering Actually Looks Like

Mentoring youth one-on-one or in small groups. Supporting teen parents through encouragement and practical help. Assisting with On Campus Programming, events, or camps. Providing meals, hygiene items, or baby supplies. Helping with youth gatherings and service projects.

Whatever role fits your capacity, you’re helping carry the long game forward.

Volunteer Requirements:

Because we work closely with minors, all volunteers complete the following before serving:

  • Background check and personal references
  • One-on-one interview with a Tacoma YFC leader
  • Agreement to YFC National leadership standards, including a statement of faith and commitment to Christlike living
  • Mandatory reporter training (required by Washington State law for all volunteers)

We take this seriously because the young people we serve deserve it.
