This spring we welcomed Frank Jackson BACK to Tacoma YFC staff as our Ministry and Leadership Development Director. Frank is a Tacoma native returning to the PNW following a short stint in Tennessee. As a previous YFC staff member, he understands the ministry models, has great respect from our team, and a passion for leadership development.
We asked Frank some hard-hitting questions about his role here at TYFC and life in general:
What are you excited about in your new role?
Frank: I’m excited about the direction we’re heading in with the right people in the right positions. It really excites me to lead a great team of dedicated and driven leaders.
Why YFC?
Frank: Why not YFC? YFC reaches the lost kids like I was and needed but didn’t have access to. The idea that someone would love to sit down and discuss Jesus Christ to a lost soul inspires me daily.
What’s the best book you’ve read lately? (Frank is a big reader!)
Frank: The One Thing by Gary Keller, The Willie Lynch Letter by Willie Lynch, High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard.
Besides Jesus, your family, etc., what’s something you love/are passionate about? Or a hobby you have?
Frank: Teaching, speaking, coaching, waking up.
Is a hot dog a sandwich?
Frank: It’s a sandwich when you add a lot of condiments. I love making hotdog sandwiches and I love a good hotdog with mustard only, which to me is not a sandwich. (Frank is also an amazing chef, so this in-depth answer does not surprise us! 😉)
We’re so grateful to have Frank back on the team! He provides supervision and leadership to our City Life, Community, and Campus Life directors. Frank is helping shape a leadership development blueprint for our staff as well as create a Young Leaders Initiative to equip teens and young adults with life skills, ministry leadership skills, and growth in their relationship with Jesus. As a key leadership staff, he is helping ensure there is diversity, cultural competency, and equity for our leaders as we relate to each other, the young people we impact, and the communities we serve.
Next time you’re in the neighborhood, stop by and say hello! We’d love to introduce you to some new faces and catch up with old friends.
