COVID-19 Response

In these uncertain times our ministry is not canceled.
It's creative.

In the midst of the COVID-19 virus outbreak, our Tacoma YFC team is aligned with the recommendations of our civic leaders while also implementing creative ways to continue bringing the hope of Jesus to 11-19 year-olds across Pierce County.

Our office is closed and our staff are working remotely while practicing preventative measures as given by the CDC, the state, and the Tacoma Pierce County Health Department.

While we’re all following the state’s “Stay Home – Stay Healthy” order, the relational ministry of YFC continues in other creative ways. All group gatherings across our Parent Life, Campus Life, City Life, and Juvenile Justice Ministries have not been canceled, they’ve been replaced with creative solutions involving tools like Zoom, Instagram Live, and Youtube.  All YFC leaders are connecting relationally with young people utilizing social media, Facetime, Zoom calls, handwritten notes, and yes, even a phone call (as revolutionary as that may be!).

Perhaps now more than ever, young people across Pierce County are wrestling with fear, anxiety, and isolation. We are committed to surrounding them with our friendships and, more importantly, to keep pointing them to the security and peace found only through a relationship with Jesus.

Many of you have asked, “How can we help?” Thank you! Knowing that we have a community of partners surrounding this mission is an incredible encouragement to our team. Your continued prayer and financial support is so crucial during this time. Pray with us that the Father will surprise us with financial provision, more volunteer leaders, and new opportunities to minister to kids, leaders and giving partners. Now is when the world needs the hope of Jesus more than ever!

If you have any questions about our ministry or our response to the COVID-19 crisis, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@tacomayfc.org

Our leaders are creatively connecting with kids and replacing in-person gatherings with online hangouts. They’re continuing to hold clubs using tools like Zoom and Instagram, and utilize social media to send hopeful messages, pose challenges, and create community. We’re grateful for their creativity!
