Sydney’s Story

When Sydney walked into detention, her future looked bleak. Facing up to three years in incarceration, she felt hopeless. But twice a week, YFC mentors visited. They prayed with her, guided her through trauma-informed care, and reminded her that her mistakes didn’t define her.

Over time, Sydney began to change. When she stood before the judge, her transformation was clear. Instead of incarceration, she was granted parole—a fresh start to rebuild her life with her family.

“Sydney is so happy!” her mentor shared. “The judge saw the change in her and decided to show mercy. This isn’t just about avoiding prison; it’s about rediscovering hope.”

Through Mentorship One80, YFC mentors meet young people where they are, offering Christ-centered encouragement, life skills training, and tools to heal and grow.

Last year, this program supported 185 youth, helping achieve:

  • A 30% reduction in repeat justice involvement.
  • A 40% improvement in mental health and well-being.
